All variations of this class have the same curriculum and run at ~30 hours total ). This deep dive provides the beginning woodworker with a solid foundation in wood shop safety, the proper use of hand and stationary power tools, project design, wood selection and much, much more. This course is designed to either prepare you to execute your own projects at home or to provide you with the foundation you need to start doing more complicated and ambitious work here with at Puget Sound Woodworking.
You'll learn to operate a jointer, planer, table saw, band saw, miter saw, hand held router and a table-mounted router. You'll use joinery techniques that will employ pinned mortise and tenon, dados and through-dovetails; all made using various jigs/fixtures, power tools and hand tools as you create this gorgeous, solid cherry multi-purpose tote box with handle.
The Fundamentals of Woodworking class will provide you with a great many tips and tricks for how to become a more efficient and accomplished woodworker. These tips can shave many years off of your learning curve and are enthusiastically shared by a professional woodworker/teacher with decades of experiences in the woodworking craft and the building trades.
This class will provide you with the confidence and knowledge to know your way around shop tools, so you can get a jump start on your woodworking skills. There is a mountain of material covered in this class, so come well-rested and ready to learn!

Puget Sound Woodworking maintains small class sizes at a maximum of 4 students per class. This guarantees that you get plenty of hands-on, personal time with the instructor.
The cost of materials is factored in to the price of the class.
