Fundamentals of Woodworking - Weekend Classes

Our best selling class, this intensive course is packaged as either a once-per-week series or as a five-consecutive-day series (both classes run at ~30 hours total ).   This deep dive provides the beginning woodworker with a solid foundation in shop safety, the proper use of hand and stationary power tools, project design, wood selection and much, much more.  This course is designed to either prepare you to execute your own projects at home or to provide you with the foundation you need to start doing more complicated and ambitious work here with at PSW (limited availability).

You'll learn to operate a jointer, planer, table saw, miter saw, hand held router and a table-mounted router.  You'll use joinery techniques that will employ wedged mortise and tenon, dados and through-dovetails; all made using various jigs/fixtures, power tools and hand tools as you create this gorgeous, solid cherry multi-purpose tote box with handle.

You'll also learn a number of tricks and tips for how to select wood as well as how to mill your wood for optimal visual appeal and joinery quality.
